Last week saw the ASP's annual JBay event go down in pretty much perfect surf – mixed with plenty of regret that the contest had been struck from the World Tour proper. Still, it ran as a 6 star prime WQS event, and it ran good. Plenty of the top pros turned up, too, because, well, with more than two months off between Fiji and Tahiti, they needed something to do. Surfing for big-ish cash at the best righthand pointbreak in the world (discuss) seems like a good way to.

In the end, the great Brazilian battler Adriano DeSouza won, and there were tons of highlight moments along the way, see the highlight vids below.

But personally, this is my highlight - Heath Joske having so much fun on a JBay screamer that the spirit of Terry Fitzgerald actually took over his body for a moment, giving us a glimpse of ancient days when style was as important as all that other stuff.
