This week the Hawaii Ocean Film Festival will announce its call for films on the subject of marine resources, ocean recreation, and cultural connections to the sea.
The HOFF presents a unique opportunity to match the voices and visions of ocean sports enthusiasts and environmental projects through the medium of independent film.
Celebrating their ninth year presenting films on surfing, sailing,SCUBA, paddling, voyaging and environmental issues, HOFF are expanding their events to include workshops on action film-making techniques, underwater equipment (rebreathers, nitrox) camera equipment and housings and other related topics.
The event kicks off at Sunset on the big outdoor screen on Hanalei Bay, on August 23rd. The festival presents the top ten independent short films submitted from around the world in the short, (2-9 minute) medium (10-30 min) and feature length formats.
