California Surf Museum Paddle Out Fundraiser

Come spend an enchanted evening and help create a beautiful museum for the world to enjoy! Join the California Surf Museum Inaugural Paddle Out Fundraiser dinner and auction on Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 5-10pm, at the elegant Ocean House Restaurant in Carlsbad, CA.

Music with SuperWave will fill the air, a fabulous Hawaiian-style buffet will be provided, and a live and silent auction will make for a memorable night. Pioneers and legends of surfing will be attending, to drop a few names… Reno Abellira, Schuyler McFerran (2007 Women’s World Longboard Champion), Bobby “Challenger” Thomas, Peter “PT” Townend (1976 World Surfing Champion), Shaun Tomson (1975 Pipeline Master and 1977 World Surfing Champion), SIMA President Dick Baker, Gidget, Carl and Jack “Woody” Ekstrom, Auguere brothers (Founders of Reef), LJ Richards (Oceanside surfing pioneer and US Men’s Surfing Champion), Linda Benson (Women’s World Champion), Julie Cox (Women’s World Longboard Professional surfer and Roxy team rider) and too many more to list!

The auction item vault is growing daily and a few highlights are:

· Rare Herbie Fletcher hand shaped and painted longboard

· Craig Hollingsworth custom shaped surfboard painted by Wade Koniakowsky

· Tahitian Pearl and Diamond necklace and earrings by K Brunini Jewels

· Surftech Dale Velzy Paddleboard

· Original artwork by Nathan Gibbs, Sally Taylor, Wade Koniakowsky and more

· Tom Keck photo shoot

· Items from Hurley, Billabong, Island Influence and K-Five

· Many more “surprise” items!

Purchase your tickets quick – space is limited! Tickets for the event are $55 per person for members and $65 for non-members. Tickets at the door will be $75, if available. The funds generated from the Inaugural Paddle Out Fundraiser will help CSM provide interior improvements to its new facility to showcase surfing for decades to come. The new facility will allow CSM to expand the exhibit space, provide additional educational opportunities and increase its needed archival space. Come be a part of making surfing history!
