London Surf /Film Festival Surf Cinema Re-Vision, Presented by Oakley

London Surf / Film Festival X Oakley have teamed up with Approaching Lines and some of the UK’s most exciting surf creatives to present ‘Surf Cinema Re-Vision’, a specially commissioned gallery show and online auction celebrating the connection between art and celluloid in support of Water Aid.

LS/FF tasked a selection of the UK’s leading surf creatives to reinterpret and redesign the art work for an iconic surf film that resonated with them and produce a unique piece that captures the essence of the movie and stirs the imagination. The resulting, ‘Surf Cinema Re-Vision’ collection draws on the work of a hugely talented and exciting pool of UK artists who have a strong connection to the sea including: Richard Bull / Bull, Rich Braham / Whale Submarine, Nick Radford / Frootful, Keiron Lewis / Seamouse, Chris Dorning / Moot, Droog79, Wilma Johnson, Victoria Jones and David Beckitt – illustrators, graphic artists, graffiti artists, typographers, fine artists.

‘Surf Cinema Re-Vision’ gallery show presented by Oakley previewed at the Riverside Studios Gallery, Hammersmith during the London Surf / Film Festival, featuring re-imagined posters from seminal films such as John Millius’s Big Wednesday to modern classics such as Andrew Kidman’s Litmus and these exciting pieces of art are now available to buy.

Each of the works - an original A2 poster print are on sale via an online auction that runs to Friday 22nd November 2013 with all proceeds going to WaterAid - an international non-governmental organization that transforms lives by improving access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation in the world’s poorest communities.
