Wood Workshops

If you’re into wooden boards and want to learn how to make your own, you should know about Treetosea.org, a web community of wooden stick-makers.
Treetosea.org (“Grow your own surfboard!”) also holds regular workshops and they’ve just announced one in February in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
This from treetosea’s Paul Reisberg:
“I am going to host a workshop with Rich Blundell (Treetosea, Grain surfboards) in our beautiful place in Pembrokeshire.
He will teach participants how to build a hollow wooden surfboard with his widely-adopted strip and feather method.
No woodworking skills needed. Paulownia and cedar will be provided.
The date will be in february next year – 25th-27th February 2011.
The price depends on the length of the surfboard that is built. There are 9 places available.
For more information, please go to www.treetosea.org.”
And if that doesn’t hit the spot, maybe the workshop in the Mentawais next September will.
